Karana:First and second bhalavas of the lunar day
Vara:The 7 weekdays(0ver lord being Sun)
Nakshatra:27 or 28 constellations (Overlord being Moon)
Yoga:Union of two planets (Coming of together of two planets)
Karana leads to knowledge
Tithi leads to prosperity

All the above limbs of Jyotish are linked to Panchatattwas(5 elements)
Yoga is Akasha tattwa(Ether element)
Vara is Fire element
Karana is Earth element
Nakshatra is Vayu element
Tithi is Jala element
Person born in any day of the week carries the element of Fire
Person born in any of the 27 stars carries the element of Air
Person born in any of the 30 tithis carries the element of water
