Mula dasa
Updated: Jan 30
Mula dasa is one of the best dasa among other dasa where we can decipher the evils or the curse of the native
This dasa is also called as Lagna Kendradi dasa and here lagna means ascendant and kendra is 1,4,7,10 and adi means other and other here refers to the Panaparas(2,5,8,11) and Apokilmas(3,6,9,12)
This dasa gives the results of the karma which the native has done in his past life where the native has to suffer in this life
As the name suggest it starts from lagna or kendra which ever is strong and further kendras are counted. Once the periods are complete then the dasa period will move to Panaparas and then to Apoklimas
To calcuate the dasa period there are some rules which will apply
If the lagna is in the ODD sign then dasa of the planets in the Panapara followed by kendras
If the lagna is in the EVEN sgn then the dasa of the planets in the Apoklimas follwed by Kendras
If Saturn is in lagna then whether if the lagna is placed in ODD or EVEN sign then the dasa of the planets in the kendra will operate and followed by Panapara
If Ketu is i lagna then whether the lagna is placed in ODD or EVEN sign then the dasa of the planets in the kendra will operate and followed by Apoklimas
Dasa Sequence
The sign will more planets is considered strong then those signs which no planets or lesser planets
If the sign has equal number of planets then the status of the planets like being in Exaltation, Moolatrikona or swaskeshtra to be considered
If still we find that the signs are strong then we have to take the dual sign strength and then next comes fixed and then movable
If still we find that above rules is not getting applied then the planet with a higher degree to be considered
Dasa Periods:
Count from the planet and move forward to its moolatrikona sign and substract the number arrived by 1. The deduction has to be done for the year as per the Vimshottari dasa sequence
The next result arrived is the dasa period of the Mula dasa
If the planet is exalted add 1 to the resultant number and substract 1 if the planet is in debility
For the dasa of rahu and ketu then the counting has to be done in reverse order
Let us take an example

Past life karma
Exactly in the Rahu moola dasa that was during his birthday which was in the month of July his spouse started having the issue where she developed migraine and fever and for the next 3 years that is from 2011-2014 native had to take her to hospitals for regular check ups. But in the year 2013 she was diagosed with a rare disease which was uncurable and native took her reguarly to the hospitals and her conditio was going down day by day and this continued till 2019. Here Rahu is the lord of the 7th house and placed in the 9th house in marana karaka bhava
7th house as per the jyotish is the house of spouse and partner
The next dasa of the naitve was that of Venus which started from 2019 and in the year 2021 the native spouse passed away due to cardiac failure and lungs getting destroyed
Venus Maha dasa and Venus antar dasa was operating and if we see the chart Venus is placed in the 7th house as a maraka(death givng planet) from the 7th house which is Aquarius(Kumbha) and spouse of the native passed way peacefully.
So here we know that Moola dasa will shows our past life karmas and also the timming is seen as to how the karma will unfold
Note that all fixed signs are ruled by Siva while Movable signs are ruled by Bramha and the dual signs are ruled by Visnu.
Planets which are placed in the fixed sign of the rasi and navamsa here the karma is fixed in nature and native has to undergo good or bad outcome where as for other signs the outcome can be change or mitigated using dhana or pooja
