Vimshottari dasa is considered as Icining in the cake and it is the king of the Vimshottar dasa. But apart from the Vimshottar dasa there are some other dasa which are called as Conditional dasa and among these conditonal dasa there is also a dasa called as ADHANA VIMSHOTTAR DASA .

Adhana is called the Moment of conception

ADHANA DASA IS CALCULATED WHEN MOON IS PLACED IN THE 8TH OR 12TH HOUSE

This is calculated based on the Moon sign and the star in which the Moon is placed. For example let us say a person is born when the Moon is transiting Poorvaphalguni whose lord is Venus hence from there we need to count the 8th VD lord and it will be

Mercury

So the starting dasa in this example will be Mercury and Mercury would be the starting dasa and the next dasa periods will follows and this is as follows:

Mercury- 17 Years

Ketu-7 Years

Venus-20 Years

Moon-10 Years

Mars-7 Years

Rahu-18 Years

Jupiter-16 Years

Saturn-19 Years

While calculating the Antar dasa period in the Maha dasa it will be as follows:

Maha dasa of Mercury the antar dasa will be:

Mars

Rahu

Jupiter

Saturn

The same can be calculated for the Pratyatara dasa in the antar dasa

Let us calcuate the antar dasa of the Mercury in its own Maha dasa

Mercury is for a period of 17 years so let us say native was born in the year 1969.

We know that the total Vimshottari dasa period is 120 Years

Mercury MD 17 years and Mercury AD 17 years and divided the total by 120

17*17=289/120=2.41

So the antar dasa period will start from 1969-1971

And the Pratyatara dasa period will be as follows:

In the above example we find that .41 is left over and we have to add the months to the antar dasa period to arrive at the Pratyatara dasa period
